Korrie is offering a picture book dummy critique

We asked Korrie some spring-themed questions so you can get to know her more, and here are her responses:

• What is your favorite thing about spring?

  My favorite thing about spring is the fact that there are finally some warm days to spend outside! I am not a winter person, so I always use the first warm spring day to go on a picnic!

• Spring is full of surprises bursting forth, what’s something you’ve found surprising about the publishing industry?

  I’ve found it surprising that everyone in the industry (at least the people I’ve met) are welcoming and helpful. It’s nice to know that there is room for everyone and their books in this industry. It’s not as competitive as I would have thought – and that’s amazing!

• Can you tell us a bit about the book you’re working on?

  Right now, I’m working on the final illustrations for my picture book, The Big Sibling Getaway. It will be released this fall and features a little girl who uses her imagination and a cardboard box to escape the cries of her new baby brother.

Korrie’s Bio

Korrie Leer is a picture book author/illustrator, freelance illustrator and aspiring young adult novelist. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband, two cats, and stacks upon stacks of books. When she’s not writing/drawing, you can find her trying to relive her glory days on the soccer field, procrastinating in a cafe with overpriced coffee, or in a bookstore (buying books I can’t fit in her apartment.)
