Ameerah Holliday is a dancer and self-proclaimed poetess from San Diego, California whose pronouns are she/her/hers. She received her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from San Diego State University. Holliday is a former editorial assistant intern for Poetry International and currently serves as editorial director for the San Diego Poetry Annual and editor for Kids! San Diego Poetry Annual.

Stephanie Winter – Associate Agent with P.S. Literary Agency
Stephanie Winter is an associate agent with P.S. Literary Agency, specializing in nonfiction, illustrated children’s books (graphic novels, picture books, etc.), and select adult fiction. She holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto in English Literature and an M.A. in English: Issues in Modern Culture from University College London.

Kaitlyn Sanchez – Agent with Bradford Literary Agency and Creator of the Fall Writing Frenzy
Kaitlyn Leann Sanchez is a mom, wife, literary agent, and middle school math teacher.
She’s the co-creator and co-host of the Spring Fling Kidlit Contest, creator and co-host of the Kidlit Fall Writing Frenzy Contest, and one of the hosts along with my critique group 6 Ladies and a MANuscript, of Kidlit Zombie Week.

EDITOR Donors
Erika DiPasquale – Associate Editor with Harper Children’s
Erika DiPasquale has worked at HarperCollins for 6 years, first as a member of the adult foreign rights team and now as an Associate Editor at Harper Children’s. She works on projects for all age ranges, from board book through YA, fiction and non-fiction. She’s excited about stories that tackle difficult topics in digestible ways as well as anything described as humorous, silly, quirky, clever, or unconventional. Erika also works on the Pete the Cat, Harold & the Purple Crayon, and Margaret Wise Brown programs and supports Nancy Inteli on her list, including the Food Group program.

Ivan Taurisano – Editor with Sourcebook Kids
Originally from Rome, Ivan moved to the US to pursue a career in children’s book publishing. He holds an MA and an MFA in Children’s Literature and Writing for Children from Simmons University. He is an assistant editor at Sourcebooks, Kids, where his goal is to make books that change lives.

Ebony Mudd – Author of Picture Books and Novels for Underrepresented Kids
Ebony Lynn Mudd writes picture books and novels for underrepresented kids who don’t see themselves portrayed positively in the media. Her upcoming picture book, JUNIOR TAKES A LEAP, will be illustrated by Pure Belpré and Coretta Scott King Honor Artist C.G Esperanza and published by Scholastic. She is the co-founder of the PB Rising Stars Mentorship Program and the creator of picture book writing courses like HOW TO BREAK DOWN A PICTURE BOOK TO BUILD UP YOUR MANUSCRIPT, HOW TO USE HIP-HOP MUSIC TO LEVEL UP YOUR PICTURE BOOK VOICE, and HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT PICTURE BOOK STRUCTURE TO SAVE YOUR STORY. Andrea Wang – Acclaimed Author of Children’s Books
Andrea Wang is an acclaimed author of children’s books. Her picture book, Watercress, was awarded the Caldecott Medal, a Newbery Honor, the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature, and a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor, among other accolades. Her other books, The Many Meanings of Meilan, Luli and the Language of Tea, Magic Ramen, and The Nian Monster, have also received awards and starred reviews. Alyssa Reynoso-Morris – Queer Afro-Latine Author
Alyssa Reynoso-Morris is a queer Afro-Latine/x Dominican and Puerto Rican storyteller. Her ability to weave compelling stories has opened many doors for her as an author, speaker, and resume writer. She is also a mother and community organizer. During the day she works with community members, non-profit organizations, and government officials to make the world a better place. Then she puts her writer’s hat on to craft heartfelt stories about home, family, food, and the fun places she has been. Alyssa was born and raised in The Bronx, New York, and currently lives in Philadelphia, PA with her partner and daughter. She is the author of Plátanos Are Love, The Bronx Is My Home, and Gloriana Presente: A First Day of School Book. She hopes you enjoy her stories.

Amanda Rawson Hill – Award-winning Children’s Author and Poet
Amanda Rawson Hill is an award-winning children’s Author and poet. Her recent works include THE HOPE OF ELEPHANTS, MY PET CLOUD, and ONCE UPON A FAMILY. She lives in central California with her husband, five kids, and pet bulldog.

Sarah Hovorka – Disabled Author of Children’s Books, Novels, and Short Stories that Entertain
Sarah Hovorka writes lots of stuff from big-hearted picture books to horror-ridden novels. Unlike Goldilocks, every genre she tries feels just right, though children’s literature is her primary focus. She is the author of Hattie Hates Hugs and Same Love, Different Hug with two more picture books coming in 2024.

Chana Stiefel- Award-winning Author of More than 30 Books
Chana Stiefel is the award-winning author of more than 30 books for children. Her recent nonfiction picture book, THE TOWER OF LIFE: How Yaffa Eliach Rebuilt Her Town in Stories and Photographs, published by Scholastic, won the 2023 Sydney Taylor Book Award, a Robert F. Sibert Honor, the Margaret Wise Brown Prize for Children’s Literature, and the SCBWI Russell Freedman Nonfiction Award for a Better World. Other nonfiction titles include LET LIBERTY RISE: How America’s Schoolchildren Helped Save the Statue of Liberty (a Bank Street Best Book of the Year, Scholastic) and ANIMAL ZOMBIES & OTHER REAL-LIFE MONSTERS (a Top 10 YALSA Quick Pick, NatGeoKids). Shannon Stocker – Disabled Author Driven to Fill Bookshelves with Diverse Protagonists with Disabilities
As the mother of one child with brain cancer and another with ADHD, Shannon Stocker is passionate about advocating for children with disabilities. She’s authored picture books like WARRIOR: A PATIENT’S COURAGEOUS QUEST, and the 2023 ALA Schneider Family Book Award winner, Cybils Award finalist, Anna Dewdney Read Aloud Honor book, and Comstock Read Aloud Award winner, LISTEN: HOW EVELYN GLENNIE, A DEAF GIRL, CHANGED PERCUSSION, among others. Although Shannon completed medical school, her own disability (RSD/CRPS) prevented her from doing a residency, a plot twist for which she is now grateful. Shannon is driven to fill bookshelves with diverse protagonists with disabilities, as she believes every child deserves to see themselves in a book. Cool facts: Shannon is a musician, a coma survivor, and a believer that whether or not everything happens for a reason, we all feel broken sometimes. Shannon lives in Louisville KY with her husband, her children Cassidy and Tye, way too many critters, and a hidden stash of dark chocolate. She is represented by Allison Remcheck of Stimola Literary Studio.

Kim-Hoa Ung – A Chinese American Author-Illustrator and former Fall Writing Frenzy Winner
Kim-Hoa Ung is a Chinese American author-illustrator and amigurumi artist. When she is not creating stories, you can find her crocheting pieces for art shows, sending snail mail, and making arts and crafts with her kids. She lives with her family in Southern California. A Gift for Nai Nai is Kim-Hoa’s debut picture book. You can find her as @AutumnLeaflet on Twitter and Instagram.

Brian Gehrlein – Picture Book Author and Creator of Picture Book Spotlight
Brian is best known for his lengthy and specific bios in which he gushes about his glorious conquests and vast accomplishments. He has won many awards for his numerous leather-bound picture books. His published works (which are far too numerous to count) adorn his expensive bookshelf which smells of rich mahogany and espresso and dreams. Brian was born without a sense of humor and writes serious books for serious kids. He once took out his own appendix while flying a hot air balloon over the ocean. If you’re impressed by that, consider buying one of his books (again, there are too many to count).

Jessica Stremer – An Award-winning Children’s Author who Creates Books to Help kids Explore the World
Jessica Stremer is an award-winning children’s author who combines her love of science and writing to create books that inspire kids to explore and think critically about the world around them. Her titles include GREAT CARRIER REEF (a Junior Library Guild Gold Star Standard), LIGHTS OUT: A Movement to Help Migrating Birds, and FIRE ESCAPE: How Animals and Plants Survive Wildfires.

Diana Murray – the Rhyme Queen!
Diana Murray is the author of over twenty-five children’s books, including Jr. Library Guild selections like CITY SHAPES and GOODNIGHT, VEGGIES; as well as UNICORN NIGHT, an Amazon Best Book of the Year from the bestselling UNICORN DAY series.
