Hi all,
I’m so excited to share what you’ve all been waiting for!
Thank you for your great responses to my posts about my favorite books from 2024, which can be found here and here. There was an overwhelming request to hear about my daughter’s favorite books too! Luckily, after a bit of convincing, Kiara finally said she’d love to share her favorite books. Since we enjoy a lot of the same picture books, we decided her list would share early readers, chapter books, graphic novels, and middle grade novels.
Please remember, these are my eight-year-old’s favorite books that she read in 2024 so their release date may not be from 2024.
Also, please note, if the book is part of a series, she loves the series, but we tried to choose her favorite book cover to represent the whole series.
Finally, she wants you to know that these are in order starting with her most favorite at the top. (My list was in no particular order, and yes, this totally makes her an overachiever, and yes, I’m a super proud Mama!)
Without further ado…
Kiara’s Fave ERs, CBs, GNs, and MGs of 2024

Thank you all so much for checking out this awesome list! Kiara wants you to know that with Chi-Chi and Pey-Pey she likes both books equally, so it was super hard to choose one cover to represent that series.
Also, we got to see the Dog Man movie on opening night! Kiara even got a free poster. The whole family loved it, so it may become her favorite books series and favorite movie of the year, too! Kiara said everyone should definitely go see Dog Man while it’s still in theaters!
Which books did you enjoy on the list? Which ones are you hoping to read now? Why did you love them or why are you interested in reading them? Please let us know in the comments! And if you notice a creator here, please tag them on socials to let them know.
Wishing you a lovely 2025!
Sincerely,
Kaitlyn Sanchez

Thanks for sharing Kiara. 🙂

Very revealing! Kiara definitely has a favorite type of book, a lot of funny ones. 🙂 If she keeps track over the next few years, it would be interesting to see how or if her tastes change from age to age. Thanks to both of you for this list!

Kiara says that one of her top favorites will always be Dogman, but we’re curious too to see how her tastes adapt as she grows.

Kiara, this is an amazing list and you are an impressive reader!! My daughter loves to read too, and I showed her your list. While you both agree on many of your favorites (and she likes your order, as well!) you had a few on here that she had not yet read… we are checking them out of the library ASAP! For example, she had not yet read the Pizza and Taco, and she’s excited–thank you! Also, she recommends The Babysitter’s Club GN series (she has read them all and can’t decide which she likes best!) and recently, she has loved Terri Libenson’s books, which are a hybrid. She recommends starting with Invisible Emmie.
Thanks again, Kiara and Kaitlyn, book-sharing extraordinaire team! 🙂

Wow! I love this response! It sounds like you and your daughter are great readers too. Kiara says she’s excited for you guys to read Pizza and Taco because it’s A-Maz-ing! Kiara and I also really enjoyed Invisibile Emmie and in fact we’re reading Always Anthony right now – great choice! For babysitters she hasn’t finished the series yet so she’s not sure either. Excited to hear what you all think about the funny Taco and Pizza books!
